Giovanni Battista Viotti: «professione musicista» XIV, 200 pp.; 21 x 14,8 cm This volume is meant as a state-of-the-art in-depth exploration of Giovanni Battista Viotti’s works and musical language. Compositions for different combinations—duos, sonatas, quartets, vocal music—are discussed, various aspects of his opus are investigated or approached from new perspectives, and performance practice issues are dealt with. Also, information is issued here for the first time on newly found Viotti pieces in Piedmont music archives. A board member of Arcadia Foundation, Milan, she coordinates the Monumenti Musicali Italiani section at SIdM, and participates in the ITMI (Indici della Trattatistica Musicale Italiana) working group, Franceschini Foundation, Florence. |
